When i set up my fish room i pulled out all the drywall, rewired, and put up greenboard and then sprayed with kills.

Other than a good mold & mildew resistant paint and decent ventilation, none of the other stuff is necessary, especially wiring?

Wiring is very inportant if you want to have enough power for your aquarium. I added a separate 20 amp GFCI outlet and breaker for my tank.

Oh sorry, You said re-wired, so I assumed you actually replaced wiring.. I too have added circuits & GFCI outlets. lmao Truly my fault for making assumptions. I was thinking to myself "This guy must take moisture a little too seriously".

On a side note, I made sure to add a separate circuit close by for my pumps to run off of that does not use a GFCI. This is so if anything (cat, friend, whatever) were to ever cause the GFCI to trip by knocking the light into the tank, the fish would stay alive until I noticed an issue. Just something to keep in mind.

If GFCI plugs are wired correctly, when one trips, all of the others on the circuit trip...so one problem when you're not there leads to an entire circuit of dying or dead fish.

Is it possible to run 2 canisters on a 270 gallon pond?

You can run 52 canisters if you want....what are you asking?

I have been browsing around for a 270 gallon pond that I have found, that is out of stock for now,but what kind of canister would I need to run for the pond?

Yes i rewired my fish room completly. My house was built in the 60s so i just put better insulated, thicker wires in and GFCIs all the way around the room. I have 8x10 gallons, 3x40 gal, 2x55 gall and my pond in the room, to me thats a little much on the old electrical so when i wired the room i made sure that it would hold up to what i was putting in it.

My house was built in the 30s. I had knob & tube wiring that only had 4 outlets in one room. The breaker box had three 15a breakers for the entire house. No a/c, one small gas heater, no refrigerator..... I've had to wire all of this on my own, so I hear ya.....
