sounds good to me. I have wanted one for a while now this one looks sturdy. I got a bit of an algae problem nothing super serious however but I need one for my quarantine tank either way.

ok, so after doing much research i found out that uv sterilizers are really only good for two things: 1) zapping micro-parasites such as ick and 2) killing free floating algae which is causing green water. i was looking for something to help with hairgrass algae, so thats a no go for me on this device. so scorponok was correct, unless you are using it for one of these two reasons. i think i'll stick to the advice of finding something that eats it!

hahahahaha

for hair algae the best thing is to either out plant it or pick it out... amano shrimp eat it as well but depending on what else is in the tank that might become an expencive snack

ive only managed to out plant it once and that only worked because i filled the tank with low light plants... it still took about 3 months to die out

Hair algae is usually a result of fluctuating/low CO2. This can be caused by slacking with water changes or low water flow. Look into the Siamese algae eater or maybe even the nerite snail (they're awesome at getting rid GSA and brown diatom).
