Figured I'd start a grow out thread of our long fin albino oscars. Picked them up at about 2-3"

Day 1

Day 10 already look to have grown an inch. Devouring hikari cichlid gold sinking pellets

They're also responsible for killing three 2" peacock bass. So much for long fins being more docile...I learned my lesson quick

Grow out threads are always welcome. Nice looking baby O's.

It will be fun to watch them grow. Monster albino O's look great as adults.

I started a grow out thread for my tiger oscar 3 years ago, but I got too lazy to keep updating it. Thought about reviving it, but by now there's about a 4 inch gap between now and the last pic I posted, so I figure what's the point. Lol. :grinno:

Love seeing some Oscar grow outs! Oscars seem to be underrated compared to some of the other Central/South American Cichlids.

Day 24:

Already almost 2" of growth!! These guys are beasts! They're devouring anything and everything I put in for them and even taking it away from the Senegal bichirs. Surprisingly the green sunfish is putting up a decent fight, but his growth is much slower for some reason. :/

Also looks like they're lutino not true albino, which I have nothing against!

IME Sunfish grow more slowly than the majority of cichlids, especially the kinds of growth Oscars. May want to watch out they aren't able to eat the sunnie eventually.

I'd actually be more worried about those senegals... to an oscar its like a spaghetti noodle. Sluuuurp!

I love a good adult longfin, just make sure the fins dont get nipped! They never seem to heal straight and leave kinks and bends in the fin where it was nipped

Nice!
