A Hello and a sad day.

Sorry for the loss but hey welcome to the forum. What did you plan on stocking your 200 gallons tank with now?

Just checked out manzanita.com and the pics weren't working for me. Am I the only one?
If the pic doesn't work for the singles pieces, that means the piece has sold. If you are looking for something in particular, it may be worth a call to speak with Rich. He may have it in stock but just hasn't gotten around to posting a picture.

It's definitely not the most sophisticated website on the internet. Give him a call, he prefers to talk to you anyways to try and get you what you need. :)

Thanks for all the kind words and dw info.

As for stocking I'm not real sure at this point. Right now the tank only has some small cats and crawfish so im letting them get used to having more room while I redesign. All i know is I want some color so maybe a nice plant/dw setup with a ciclid population.

Thanks for sharing your story and sorry that it happened. For my own education can you describe your lids in terms of size and/or weight? Just trying to get an idea of if my own lids are sufficient for the future. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing and sorry for your loss! Welcome to MFK.
As for the woods if you knew or have a good relationship with your LFS then you can ask them to take you to DW warehouse and pick the piece you want, suit for your setup. If you live near a river you can search, look around for DW but make sure you can bring it home though cause some place it's illegal to take away nature/wild stuff and go home with it.

Sorry for you loss. As for the drift wood, I typically collect mine anywhere that I go fishing. I just keep an eye out for pieces that I like. Good places to look are around dams. Often times these pieces get washed up there and have had plenty of time to soak and slough off the loose stuff. Once collected you can wash and sterilize them and they are ready to go.
