Hemi's hate anything that looks remotely like them :(

IME, aggression wise, it's been Fasciatus > Elongatus > Frempongi, with fasciatus being quite a bit worse than either elongatus or frempongi, which were quite similar.

I second that, though I haven't kept frempongi yet. I had a male fasciatus destroy so many cichlids that I placed him in a catfish tank. The irony of it all is my asain red tail & him fought every chance they came across each other. the shovelnose & asian bumblebee cats were never bothered. My elongatus was ok with red devils, & some tough africans like pseudotropheus.

well i am going to set up a 125 gal , i am either thinking about Frempongi and some sals or gradmoddes or maybe a butti

a 125 with fremprongi & grammodes will be cool. The butterkofri will grow to fast for those 2 species & be a threat. Don't get me wrong at the same size the grammodes will destroy a butti. If you start all 3 species at 3" the butti will grow 4x that size in 8mos. while the grammodes & fremprongi(going on the growth rate of other hemichromis species I had) will be doing good if they get 5" bigger. Salvini might be ok though.

i do not know about the grammode destroying a butti at the same size , a butti is definitely no punk

Grammodes are a bit better equipped than butti's are... butti's (tilapias in general) lack the dental structure/jaw power of the larger american cichlids, particularly those with pseudocanines. A bite from a 10" butti and a 10" grammodes or mota will be quite different. Grammodes are also quite quick, although butti's are decently manoueverable for fish of their size. A butti would definately give it a run for its money, but I'd place bets on the grammodes... The only africans I can think of that would really stand a good shot at beating an ~11 inch grammodes would be a large Lepidiolamprologus sp., or maybe an exceptionally large (~9") Neolamp. christyii, or maybe a huge H. fasciatus.

Asian RTCs (wyckioides) are mean sobs. H. wyckioides and wyckii are the most consistently aggressive fish I've kept, ever. I've never had one that wasn't a complete jack@$$ to everything around it, and I've just stopped keeping them, as much as I love them. Funny you mention keeping one with a fasciatus, I had my fasciatus with an 8 incher as well. Fasciatus entered its cave and got the beating of a lifetime. That particular one controlled a 180 full of aggressive cichlids until my softshell turtle decided he didn't like being pushed around by a scaleless fish and ripped him in half :screwy::irked:

i want a Grammode but they grow to slow and i want one that at least like 5 or 6 inches long , rapps got em but they are to small for my liken to be a slow grower

as far as buttis they might not be as well as equipped as grammode but they have sure will and the dominated anything i have keep them with including jags, rds , dovii and jds
