A. Labiatus lips

Has anyone ever successfully had an Amphilophus labiatus lips revert back to their natural form thru either duplicating the natural feeding habbits or keeping them in an outdoor pond etc. and allowing them to forage naturally? If so before and after pics would be appriciated.

This is something I would live to try with my male as his lips are so fleshy already. Just need to callouse them over a bit and we would have something.

I have personally never seen or even heard of a captive bred labiatus that had hypertrophied lips anywhere near the size of what is commonly seen in the wild.

I have never seen it either, hence my question. I was hoping someone had successfully tried this or at least had some level of success. Thanks for the the link Neil interesting info.

I'm trying this now I took woofy's Idea and took some tubs poked holes in them and added bloodworms she does it but Idk If its working

Sadly idk if its working I get lazy and after she's done with it I leave it empty should I just keep doing it and fill u guys in if u want
