So I am just trying to figure out the different names of datnoids. I was reading the ID chart and see pulcher, microlepis, polota, undecimradiatus and campbelli. And then I am reading a couple of the "please ID" threads and I see NTT, IT, ST. And THEN there is the more common name that I see at the LFS that are wide bar, thin bar, split bar etc..

What does all this mean?!

wide bars are st
thin bars are ntts
and split bars are what they souund like usually an indo with a split in the bar

Silver Dats = AT = American Tiger.

Most LFS label them as Gold Tiger Fish.

remeber there are also 3 bar indos that looks like st.

IT/indo/4 bar dat= Indonesian datnoid
NTT/thin bar dat= north thailand tiger datnoid
ST/thick bar/gold dat= Siamese tiger datnoid
NGT/mottled dat= north guinea datnoid
AT/silver datnoid= american tiger datnoid

Most commonly seen in the stores is ITs which they claim are gold datnoids. Don't fall for this

Most common here are ATs

AT = American Tiger (Datnioides polota, formerly Datnioides quadrifasciatus)
NTT = Nortern Thailand Tiger/Thinbar (Datnioides undecimradiatus)
ST = Siamese Tiger/Widebar (Datnioides pulcher)
NGT = New Guinea Tiger (Datnioides campbelli)
IT = Indonesian Tiger (Datnioides microlepis)
