A little filtration issue.

I believe it's anything deeper than 4 inches. The only thing I have any sort of substrate are planted tanks, which the roots aerate the soil, but I do still get air bubbles when i press on the gravel with the siphon during water changes. So, who's to say if the plants or the deep substrate are causing my low nitrAte levels in those tanks? Sorry, kind of went off on a tangent there...
 
Found two pumps for 9.50 on Ebay. Bought those two since I"m not doing a gravity fed return on it. Waiting for those to get here the 17th-23. Will keep posted with pics and updates if anyone wants me too.
