A little tip to make your monster fish seem, well, more monster!

My haitiensis would inhale anything small enough to fit in it's mouth. This would not work for me.

tried small dithers with my midas before and between 1 or 2 a night would be eaten.

if you really want small fish...scotch tape goldfish crackers on the outside of your tank and watch your monster go crazy

I like keeping tiny fish with my large RB piranha. I have 10 or so baby convicts in there now, and he doesn't bother them. It certainly does make the tank much nicer.

I also keep 7 tinfoil barbs in the 180 with my SA cichlids. The little bastards are too fast for anything to catch and they break up scuffles. Whoever is getting the beating just swims into their school(shoal) and all fighting stops. Best addition to the tank in a long time. A little off topic but the same idea.

Those barbs get huge and fast, they will out compete most cichlids for food when they get big

Yep in a month mine grew from three inches to five...
