You'll never hear ewurm tell you not to buy a loach...unless you are at a lfs with him.

Uh, that's exactly right. I couldn't have said it better.

Going this afternoon to see if it is still avail.

Did you buy it Muske? Good advice from other loachers it will be fine with your smaller CL's ive seen pictures of 2" and 10" CL sitting together quite happily. Mine are :-)

Let's see pics, if you bought it? My large loach doesn't bother the smaller loaches although a couple are getting close to his size now and little skirmishes break out.. I've only lost one or maybe two 5" + in the past to what I called stress induced illness, thins the herd out, then only the strong ones continue.

Lots of hiding places reduces this, however my one tank looked like a wood pile inside an aquarium that may contain fish ...?

I passed on it. The store owner said it wasn't eating, not do to lonelyness though. It had other tank mates including a small CL and a 3-4" Botia. After looking at it closely it was thin in the stomach area. I did find a little guy that has a belly spot. No pics. yet, my camera blows and I can't figure out my girlfriends yet. I will post pics. of the little dude later. It looks like a regular saddleback, then when he swims up the glass there is a spot in the middle of the two lines. Don't know if the stripes are still growing, or if will remain a spot for life.
