Red Aimara Red Aimara what plants are u keeping in ur tank?

I was told by the LFS it is some type of Anubia. The other tank I am using Java fern.

They come tied and weighed down by a small piece of driftwood. I untied them and latched them onto the main driftwood with small zip locks. :)

'd love to see more shots of the cuban. I could not understand from that funny angle what you guys are talking about.

Has the gar's head spent some time in another predator's stomach?

I've something similar with one of my tropical gars that was temporarily swallowed and then spit out by an apurensis catfish. It lost the entire skinny pouch under the lower jaw. Took some time for it to grow back. Still healing, 2 months later.

I thought it was not going to make it but it did. Started feeding a week ago.

I actually suspect it was a nasty knock on its mouth. :)

A speedy recovery to your trop gar as well.

As reported by other keepers, this is a bold species. It goes grazing for food all over the tank and definitely more outgoing than any pseudacanthicus that I had kept before.

Probably never going to get that "golden" color now that it is kept in a dark tank though. Nonetheless, love this thorny guy and hope to grow it to massive proportions. :)
