a new guy looking for the truth on arowana's

Seeing that they get 2 meters on the high end I'd hazard a guess that if you want to accommodate true adult grow out a small pond or 1,000 gallons is gonna be required. But seeing that they tend to slow at about 1 meter you could probably do with a 300-500 gallon depending on dimensions for a while(meaning ten or so years before worrying)

2 meters??? The largest recorded silver was just shy of 4 feet if I recall correctly.

Oddball, did you raise the arowana fry?.

No hatch on the 1st spawn. 7 eggs hatched and 3 survived on the 2nd spawn. Didn't have room for the fry once the parents rejected them. Traded them to friends but, hated doing so. The yolk sacs seemed undersized at hatching, Lost all but 3 by the end of the 1st week. Apparently, I was missing something in their diet that's attributable to a normal yolk development. Can't say for sure since they never tried again after I altered their diet. (Yes, I tried returning them to their previous diet with zero results)
