I did a little work on the stand today. I planed it down to match the tank. I'm hoping to make the 2 pieces appear seamless when I'm done. Also I started building the insert for the stand. In the end I just decided to go with some 1/2" ply I had here instead of spending a bunch of money on something fancy. I'll most likely stain it a darker color before I varnish. The pics aren't great but it's what I got for today.

yea, i didnt know it was two pieces until you told us

lol, yea I basically made two identical tanks that sit one on top of the other. The top is the tank of course and the lower is the stand.
