A. Orbicularis

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah they def take some time to warm up I will say that much. I remember getting them for the first time they did exactly what you are saying laying on there side and pouting for quite some time. Dont get me wrong, they are not like a midas when I say they will hold there own. They just are not like the domesticated O's where they are easily bullied. I had one in my tank with my green terror and it took no guff from the GT it was more than willing to fight back. Mine really didnt harass anything kinda kept to himself and was more than happy to eat.

Thanks seems like hes warming up and eating more with me by the tank but hes still super slow motion and is not an aggressive ester no smacking the wster for pellets just slowly sucks them down one at a time.

Yeah as long as he's eating decent thats good news. I am wondering do you have any cover for him to kinda hide around? I know the ones I had where kinda shy also. When you plan on moving him to another tank you going to have any other fish in with him? I think some dithers and cover might help the shyness a bit.

Plan on moving him to either a 150 or 120 with a yellow acara and small cat.

Right now there are 6 giant danios in tje 55 with him and have a resin root thing for him.... sometimes uses it but mostly stays at the top of the tank.

nice looking Oscar. sometimes it will take a few months of growing for him to come out of his shell. I had a very docile Oscar once and 4 months later he had a turn around in personality !!! Give him lots of food and time and im sure you will see what Oscar's are truly about

He is definitly getting less skittish and eats really well some pics from the other day. But he doesn't beg for food yet just kind of swimms out to the middle of the tank when he sees me
