Yep. Most new residential areas where I live have fireplaces. Big waste of money and materials. My parents wish they had one, I have no earthly idea why though.

well right now I have about one drip a second out the waste...normal?

I Just added a small c clamp on the hose and tightened until it was a very slow drip.
 
so far nothing has come out of the filtered line
 
thats how mine started as well with a slow drip eventually the system fills up and it filters out a lot more waste water. Your "BLUE" good line will start having a steady drip, just give it awhile
 
Im not sure how I will ever know if its right tho...this C clamp isnt exactly scientifically accurate
 
Actually its working! ha ha the C clamp did the trick!

took my tap from about 60ppm nitrates to ZERO! Yes no more driving into town for water! Why did I not do this sooner!?!?!
