I think I mentioned it elsewhere. But basically the pool I guarded at was under really cheap management and we only had a left handed glove to protect us from chlorine and muriatic acid. The acid is strong enough to eat through metal and the bottles had a big skull and cross bones on them. Yet still they didn't provide us with the proper safety equipment.

I was taking a bucket of the acid to the pool to balance the pH and this little kid ran in front of me. I stopped suddenly and the acid sloshed back and splashed onto my chest and face. The colorblindness also came from inhaling the fumes everyday from the acid and chlorine. Nasty work.
