anybody got a good link for a nooblet guide to SW??? ive been gaining interest in this but i have no idea where to even start :nilly:

Really as long as you dont jump into a reef its not hard at all. You can have a marine tank thats almost a simple as a freshwater. Use the same tank same filter just add the correct amount of salt and some marine fish. Check your levels and salinity a bit more often but its not too bad really.

Now for reefs...you need special lighting...more level checks...more additives...filtered water...live rock...live sand...cleaner crew...corals that are compatible....etc etc etc

start with a regular marine fish only tank :D

salt area here is helpful, also check out your local area if you have a saltwater club near you. Im a part of a Marine Aquarist and Reef Society Club.

prob a nano reef, wanna start out with something small to get my "feet wet"

A nano reef is harder to maintain than a large reef. I would recommend a 30 gallon+ if you really want to go reef right away. More water just gives you more room for error and more time to avoid disaster.

thanks for the feedback. youre right, i think a small FOWLR might be the way to start!

I recommend you start out with some damsels until you get it down...plus then you will have feeders for your future monster!

i have 2 english bulldogs and they r the messiest dogs i have ever had!,lol,i have to wipe his lips when he gets a drink cause he gets drool everywhere.i'm constantly wiping off everything.they also have allergies, breathing problems, they can only walk about 2 blocks cause they sound like they r gonna have a heart attack if we go any further, they can't get overheated or they throw up,they litterally eat everything and they shed pretty bad.i would never recommend bulldogs.mine were papered and cost 2,000 each and they have had a bunch of problems, like cherry eye, lost testi, worms, elongated palate, and now entropion eyelids.poor things, but i really do love them,i just wish they didn't have so many problems......

These are not the same as english bull terriers ? i want one soon but not if it has all these heartbreaking issues, thats awful! poor guys!

Wow. whats up guys I just got home from the Georgia Aquarium. I must say it is very nice and was a lot of fun.

They have an astounding salt water tank that can only be described as immense! There were beautiful reef tanks and nice cold water displays with beluga whales and also the chimeras.

There is much to see and all in all I loved the experience.

One thing I can say is there was no amazon display.. There was a sign that said the piranha display was under reconstruction. I hope that actually mean that they are making a monster fish biotope with pimas and arowanas and dats and fresh water rays and all the awesome fish we keep here at MFK!

I filled out a comment and suggestion card with information on MFK and that they should be a home to a few gigas and other amazing monsters!

pics soon
