Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me about the activity level of a Giraffe Catfish. I just bought a 5 inch juvinille Giraffe yesterday and he doesn't move around very much, unless of course there is food to be eaten and then he's all over the place. I was just wondering if this is normal behavior or if maybe he's behaving differently due to possibly different water conditions of the pet store and then my home.

seems to be the way they act from what i understand.

Yup its a pretty chill cat. Mine swims only swims when some other fish starts annoying him. Even during feeding time he just sucks up what lands in front of his nose.

yeah pretty much. might glass surf at night.

if he's eating, looks good, and water is good then i wouldn't worry. cats are hardy.

mine is about 16" and will swim around when i enter the room. mostly begging for food. Activity definately picks up at night, i hear him annoying the other fish at night sometimes.

My 16" Giraff thinks he owns the tank. Bullies my other marble cats. Doesn't bother the Jar or wide bar Dats. He is very active. Eats pellets and cut fish. They get big be ready. My Giraff and my Niger both took a while to get use to their new home. The Niger still likes to stay at one end of the tank. The Giraff is all over the tank.
