A QUESTION ABOUT GIRAFFE CATFISH

Thanks Larry for the feedback. I'm ready for a big cat. He/she is in a 180 gallon tank with big cichlids so I don't forsee a problem. The little fella sure has an appatite and he is really cool looking except for the fact that he only has one eye. His right eye is missing. It looks like it got bit out when he was younger. That's why I only paid 25 bucks for him. Had he had both eyes he would have been 65 dollars.

mine is extremely active for a catfish, especially when someone walks around the tank. mine never really took a liking to a big trimac in the tank. and that 180 w big cichlids stock may need to be thinned out when ur cat reaches the 20in length.

and in responce to color mine bleaches out when its laying on the bottom and colors up when it swims again. at first i got worried but now im just used to it, seems to be natural.
good luck they're awesome fish

Why would I have to get rid of some of them? I do alot of water changes. Do they become hyper aggressive when they get bigger. I've heard that they are gentle and won't bother anything that they can't fit into their mouth.

no, they are gentle just a 180 tank w/ a 20in fish doesn't leave a whole lot for others. especially big cichlids, gotta think beyond just water quality but thats jus my opinion
