A question About Lights ..want my fish to look better!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use Aqua Glo's on two of my tanks. They really highlight red and orange; blue a bit less. They are dimmer than the Power Glos which I use on another tank; however, if you have shy fish, the Aqua Glo is a good lighting choice.

i tired almost that whole line of power glo bulbs, aquaglo, power glo, life glo, marine glo. only ones i like are the life glow, very nice natural lighting with a soft bluish purple look to set off fish, the power glo and aqua glo are stright purple bulbs and i did not like them,to dark and over draws out red over anything, all ur fish look red.

are you sure the bulb you tried was a Powerglo? this is the first time I have anyone say they were too dark. they are among the brightest standard florescents out there.

the light that came with my light strip was a coralife 50/50 36in 30= really bright
then i tried the power glo 18000k 30w = a tad bit dimmer than the coralife but brought out colors of the fish better..
then i tired the zoo med ocean sub 10000k 25w= very dim and bluish.. hated this light.

im still in seach for the pefect light. i think i need a strip that can have two lights.
