So, the supplier for the shop I work at is having a sort of fun promo, getting a "weird fish" each week and at the end of the whole thing they send you some sort of prize. Since we get so many oddball fish in anyway, my boss has been getting the "weird fish" each week. This week they labeled the weird fish as a "false parrot"... and what do they send?
PAINTED "JELLYBEAN" Parrot/convicts. I am disgusted, and my boss isn't too pleased either. We do not get any sort of tattoo or painted fish and try to inform anyone looking for them what sort of process the fish are put through.
So now the question is: what do we do with these fish? I don't want them, but I really don't want to sell them, nor do I want to use them as feeders. We can't send them back to the supplier either.

Keep them in the shop and educate people on why they shouldn't buy fish who underwent that process. Let the poor suckers live a good life. Or sell them to someone who wants them if you just can't keep them. It's all about their quality of life.

100% agree

i have 3 parrots only due to my lack of education at the time of purchase and when i found out what the process was ....it mortified me
but i still love em i got atached to these guys...i even tried to sell them and then backed out....i treat them good and dont want to risk anyone taking bad care of them...and i think that it is a good idea to keep them and educate the public on the process of the fish..even going as far as to do up a fact sheet and atach it to the aquarium they are in and really make people feel bad for these guys.....like what the movie shark watter did for the shark...
have a good one bro dont let it bother you to much
people will continue being people

Looks to me like your kind of stuck with them. I would definately bring this issue up with your supplier and tell them about your displeasure in the fish.

Is it possible to set up a display tank with them and label it as "type of fish we don't sell" and state the reason why? It might be a good way to educate your customers.

I agree with the above comments, If your store can manage having one tank occupied by these parrots as a show tank. Have a page with information of the pain these fish are put through and attempt to have people not promote these horrific acts.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what was done to these fish?

Not dumb...uninformed. As am I, and also curious, but too lazy right now to google. So.
