A question to all of you who keep large stingrays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Even though 24" ray is big but its mouth is very small compare to there body size, so to me an 6" fish is the biggest they can swallow.

Oh really? Well IK'm sure honda you know that big ray the IPU in burnaby. After school today a friend came with me to get some fish food b/c we have nothing better to do. He saw that ray and thought it was cool. I told him it can eat a 12" fish and he said "no way, look at it's mouth". Are you saying he is right???!!! lol

But hey you have your big 600g you should buy that ray, it's in such a small tank.

BTW I think it was more around 22" then 24". :)

I don't think it comes down to the length of the fish, but more the width/girth on it. Like, I can eat a 2ft string of spaghetti, but I couldn't eat one 2ft wide.

I feed my 12'' motoro 6'' silversides some times, it's really off and on whether he eats it. Sometimes he just starts w/ the head until he chews until he's through it all. Other times he'll just eat the head off and leave the rest sitting there. So, I'm sure you can feed fish 1/2 the size of the ray, but I wouldn't really recommend it. I like my food bite size, so I try to give it to the tank bite size as well.

I'm not sure what more information your looking for. I think we've covered pretty much everything. If you have a specific question you'll have to ask a more pointed question.
