A rare fish in the aquarium - the warrior catfish

Wow! Such an amazing and exotic catfish species, congratulations my friend! Having seen your awesome and eclectic collection of rare species when I came by to pick up the Volta Giraffe Catfish a while back, gotta say you've outdone yourself with this one!?

Has anyone before you imported these, like Wesley Wong maybe? Are they expensive to bring it? It looks sizeable in your photos. Almost emaciated but hopefully you'll have no problem beefing it up.

I don’t know, I never bought any fish from Wesley wong before so I can’t say. The only other place I saw these were imported were from japan and korea. Freight in general is expensive right now so it makes anything expensive to bring in.

Most come from PNG, where if you catch a large catfish like a warrior, it is better to feed the tribe than sell it in the end. When my father was doing mission work in PNG he ate several Jardinis and Papuan Black Bass which would’ve fetched a pretty penny as an aquarium fish.

Did it survive?

There were recently some juveniles for sale in Australia. They didn't look like they were in the greatest condition though.
