Big dovi have a lot of mass look at Chakita's picture, that is why he said yours did not have the mass to be 20 inches. Here is my smaller male (14 inches) and his girlfriend.

no, yours has more height than a typical dovii of 17''. or maybe it's just shorter-bodied. one or the other. the pic chai posted seemed to have normal proportions.

not saying that's a bad thing! LOL

How many 17 inch dovis have you seen? I have not seen enough to make generalizations.

From what I've been told, there are some 28-30 inch lunkers in the canal where mine was caught in Florida. They are doing all the breeding.

Too big to ship. I've already enquired, lol. So the next time the dude who caught my fish goes back to Florida, I'll buy him a disposable underwater camera to take pics for me.
