IMO the media only appears to be 'far left' if you are 'far right'.
US media tends to be centerist, and compared to the rest of the world is very 'to the right'

We are just gonna have to agree to disagree then. And no I would not consider FOX far left at all. I would consider them the only centerist news channel there is. They might lean a little to the right with some of their shows IMO but not nearly as much as CNN, CBS and NBC, especially CNN As for you not thinking that he media is far left that is because of the exact reason you stated. You are far left so how would you notice this?

Personally, I feel what Imus said was wack and totally out of line but dude's got freedom of speech. I think the media fumbled this worse than he has though, by keeping this story so big they're only keeping the phrase 'nappy headed hoes' in the spotlight. I also respect what Rev. Sharpton tried to accomplish but believe that he hasn't helped the situation any further either.



Bottom line: who cares what people look like? even identical twins have some lil visible differences in appearance.

If you believe Imus should be fired for what he said, then the list of others who should be fired is pretty long. Imus, like Howard Stern, is a radio "personality". In other words, a lot of what he says is an act. I have some doubts that everything shock jocks say is what they really believe. You have to say outrageous things to get ratings. But here is a short list of others who should be fired or shunned for racist statements. Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Whoopi Goldberg, Lenny Bruce, Robyn Williams, Al Sharpton.(By the way, Sharpton is the only one on this list who could not be considered an "actor") The world would be a pretty boring place if you could not make fun of other people. Knock-Knock jokes get old. People seem to only get upset when the joke is on them, but can laugh when it is about someone else. Hate of racism should include racism against all races, not just your own. Personally, I have a thick skin and do not feel I can impose my judgement of what is right and wrong on anyone. Just because I might be offended does not mean the comment is wrong.
