I have a 40 gallon tank with nothing in it, and this time i want to fill it up with a predator!
Something that will eat meat, live food and will be a joy to watch!
But the thing is i don't want something to large like an oscar for example.

I want something like wonword has, the 'belonesox belizanus'.
Some kind of fish that will grow to 6-7 inches maximum.
Any ideas anyone?

Thankyou,
Jason.

a golden panchax or any other killifish might be a good idea, they stay really small but still eat feeders, the males can get quite colourful as well

altolamprologus calvus
altolamprologus compressiceps
dwarf pike cichlids

Thalassophryne amazonica, the 'prehistoric monsterfish' would be an interesting addition and they don't get more 6"

Also pikeheads (Luciocephalus pulcher) a pike like relative of gouramis.
