A "Seller's" view on the hobby.......

I cant find anything to argue against since i am on the same side of your viewpoint.
That being said, i will still try to press on and just a stupid question regarding oscars.

Mr TFH, Axelrod said in one book that majority of the oscars that we have here in the us
comes from florida.. Has that been true at one point or is that a innacurate ?( like majority of his rants on that book ).

Thats it. . . and thanks for writing a insightful rant or article ( whatever you want to call it ). I found it very refreshing. Keep on writing more !

As for the Oscar origin question...... yes at one point florida produced to most oscars........ that is no longer the case as with many CB tropical fish....... Asia has many more factors working in their favor...... cheap labor...... stable weather...... and um cheap labor........

I agree with all of that.
One point I'd like to make though is the chain store "all about the money" mentality.
The folks on the floor may be knowledgeable and not want to sell you 6 tinfoil barbs for your 20 gallon, but if management hears about that, then that dude is in deep $hit.
Case in point, I was in one of the major chain stores a while back and got to chit-chattin' with a new guy they had there. We got to talking about Pacu's when all of a sudden he says "Hold on, I'll be right back" he comes back with a full size photo of a full grown Pacu. Long story short, his boss got in his face and he got fired. I got in his bosses face and I got banned from the store!
My point is, I think he did the right thing by trying to inform the newbie in what they are really getting themselves into when they ask for "Six of those cute little buggers". As opposed to "Sell them whatever they ask for no matter what".

O.K. one more beer.
(wait a minute.....didn't I say that 8 beers ago?)

Ok i agree that manager should be taken outside and shown a bit of morality........

but let me point out another interesting fact....... it has in the past 3-4 years become a trend nationwide to open up LFS right next to these chainstores....... for the following reasons....... no need to advertise, employees often send customer to these LFS, and a chain store just cannot compete head to head with a specialty store.......
