your old filter should be loaded with plenty of BB, enough to handle the transition . . . it certainly cannot be any worse than where he is now

I'd keep him alone for a while, then try him with another cichlid that might be less threatening, like a convict . . .

can you suggest a non-cichlid fish, he is mainly aggressive towards cichlids, but he never cared about the silver dollars and bala's he used to live with. But I'm looking maybe for something that will fit a amazon river theme (natural rock and plants_ not anythings red/orange or too colorful. Was actually think about and african leaf fish or to. Would love a knife fish but I knwo they get to big, but would like something out of the norm.
