Wow. That was awesome in the begining.
The second female (from the male on the right) is busy fanning eggs in her flowerpot, but you should see her when she gets in on the action. It actually turns pretty physical when all four of them are involved in the fighting. I couldn't believe how wide they could open their mouths -- I'd never seen that before until tonight. They don't do that when eating, or during the mouthing in courtship displays. But they are pretty serious when it comes to defending a spawning site.
looks great. i like peaceful cichlid tanks... it's stressful trying to maintain some kind of peace when everyone is trying to tear everyone else apart!

It's overrated anyway. I'll take a tank full of nice fish over a nice setup any day of the week.
