is this possible. Wally world selling a great deal $195 for a 16'x45" pool

But its a soft skin above ground pool also comes with a filter but im going to add a 6,000 gallon pump into a custom made filter and also hooking up a timing from my irigation water. (will the chemicals in the water hurt the fish) into the pool. Im in Idaho so how can i keep these fish allive during winter? im going to make a auning off the side of my house. My parents wont let me build my 260 and put it in my room, but they will let me do this. Crazy yes?

Thanks for the help im new to ponds, i know people have asked this before but i could'nt find any recent ones about it if you just give me a link to the post i would be greatfull or throw in ur 2 cents

What kind of fish do you want to keep in it?

ooohhh forgot that part. Either CA cichlids, or if a heaters to expenive im going with some large mouth bass

Heating it would be killer expensive in Idaho in the Winter! I would go with LMB and maybe some large Sunfish. Either way I think you would have to insulate it!

yes. What i was thinking for heating is buying like a industrial heating pad and put it under the tank. So in winter i can turn it on and it can heat the bottom of the pool and rise it up to the top making the pool having currents.
So heres what i was thinking for the LMB Tank. 5 LMB, then like 20 Bluegill. And then ill probably add some invertibrates and other organisms.

or option B. is 1 pair of trimacs, 1 pair of jags, and 1 pair of Cuban Cichlids. Then add in a large colony of Convicts as target fish.
So heating this is going to be around 400 dollars for a straight up heater. Is theree some way i can rout a in out systeme that will go in a small tank and heat the water through there, then have the heated water return? is this practical?

i would stick with the cold water dude... even better with sturgeon or musky

im thinking of doing something like this maby, 1 tiger muskie, then like two or three rainbow trouts. Then i could always eat the trouts before the tiger gets to big

Buy the pool and wait till spring to put it up.

Save up your Christmas money and ask for stuff for it as presents as this is not going to be cheap. Just as a standard install you need 4" of construction sand under it. If your going to insulate it it is easier to bury it, with 4" of Styrofoam all around and under it. Anything less and it will cost you in heating.

How deep is the frost line there?

Do you have natural gas heat in your house or available?

And you might want to calculate electrical costs for a large pump (do you have 220v available near this) remember it has to run 24/7/365. Here's a little calculator http://www.super-grow.biz/Electricity.jsp .

This can and has been done so your not alone on this
