I feed frozen krill, talapia, live blackworms 2-3 times a week. but i feed hikari products for staple diet since mine wont touch NLS. I think its very important to get them eating whatever staple food first before introducing treats:) and as for filtration goes, im not an expert and dont know what an Emporer 400 is lol sorry. I use AC 110's and on my 4' tanks i use 2 filters and 3 on my 6' tanks with airstones and sponge filters plus i clean my filters once or twice a month too:)

i also agree on ac110s i run 2 of them on every 60 i have. larger tanks 100-150 i run 2 ac110s and a large canister. double sponge in the acs and bio in my canister.
ac110s filter more per gallon and the sponges are easily cleaned over n over. all other hobs have cartridges witch suck and need to be replaced quite frequently.

So do Motaguense couples require special conditions to breed, or are they like Convicts, where you pretty much just add water and fish? I'm asking because I'm not sure if I can take care of a whole batch of fry yet. How many babies do they usually have at a time, anyway?
