Sorry it took me so long to reply, had to get my order in with Jeff. I wasn't sure how many he had available so I emailed him right away. Also ordered some yellow-bellied Balzanis.

I will post pics of them when they arrive.

If you go to Jeffs homepage and scroll down you will see a pic of the larger size he has available. Just keep in mind they are still young and will double in size in almost a year and color up nicely too.

Read my earlier edit. Click the link and then change the asteriks in the address to water wolves without the space. This site has a lame issue with another forum.
 
i believe they are not "eartheaters" TFH published a piece recently by Wayne Leibel that states the Retroculus species group is a primitive, basal lineage to all other south american cichlids, and not at all closely related to the geophagines despite the convergent morphology. it does state as well that they have until recently been thought of as eartheaters, just a little tid bit i thought i would add. VERY NICE FISH!!!!!!!!!!!! i want some.

There are a few other places that get them for cheaper...;). I can get Retroculos xinguensis at one inch for $11 a pop....;) BTW...they are more closely related to Satanoperca than anything, although they are a little more touchy. Faster moving waters are a plus with these fish, and crystal clean tanks are a must. Delicate to say the least...for the most part. I think Scat. has some Retroculus xinguensis right now that have bred for him...;). Great fish, although I think Satanoperca daemon is just as appealing, and a whOOOle lot cheaper!!! ;)

Yeah they aren't genuine eartheaters. Peanut is right, I also read somewhere that they are more like Satanoperca than anything. I talked to Jeff and he said he has not had them in years. I have never seen them till the other day so it was an impulse buy and it being somewhat in the eartheater family and having the best colors of any of any geo, gymno, or sata that I have ever seen I had to have it. Peanut, are the ones you can get CB or WC?

I'm always looking for geos and such. Got some Altifrons and TapajoII coming tomorrow!

Pics will be up sometime next week whenever Jeffs fish arrive.
