A very sad dayfor me...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very cute pup! I sure miss that look.

sorry for the loss. my gf has one just like that. so sad.

My condolences as well. Excepet for my time in the service, I have always had at least one canine buddy and I am a fairly old fellow. People who are not dog lovers don't understand what intelligent, loyal friends they are. The downside is, they are always gone too soon, even if they live out their natural lifespan. You had a beautiful dog and whatever her age when she died, I am sure the time you had together was worth the pain now. I wish I could remember the exact poem, but I read one many years ago that, in essence said, " I'm not gone, I'll just go on ahead and wait for you awhile". I like to think that's the way things are. If so, we both have good friends waiting for us to join them. Sorry for your loss.

im so sorry you lost her, especially that way. her son is absolutely beautiful and looks so much like her! i hope you find comfort and peace in raising him.

I like that part of the poem. It's really nice. I try to look at it like that.

hoping today is better than yesterday and may this pattern repeat many times..........

It was a little better. I find myself talking about her a lot not even thinking about it.

Thanks to everyone else who replied.

I went to take the 3 out for a walk today and it was pretty hard.... A lot of people stopped me to talk about Angel and on the walk around the block you can see where she was found... It's really tough to walk by and not look... I try not to think about how I saw her last but its so hard not to. I just hope she wasn't there alone suffering.... I wish I would of checked back there the minute I saw she was gone.

My dogs r always in our family photos!!!! From my family to yours may she RIP...here is a wonderful poem that will bring tears to anyone who has lost a pet...
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

That was really good. Brought a lot of tears to me
