It looks like a bacon colored egg button. I hear they are quite rare in the hobby these days.

its not a button, clearly as a button isn't boyant. its stuck to the rock, it looks like some kind of snail or slug.if anything it looks if anything alien to a tank it looks like a false fingernail. but i think its a foreign crustacien.
