These may be too big but have you ever heard of Dusky narrow hatchets? They don't look like normal hatchet fish and can grow to 6 inches a piece. Good for larger tanks.
Sorry must have missed this, I have heard of them but never seen them for sale in the uk.

Dan, tank look very good mate, I like it a lot.
I thi k bulking up on your tetras would be a good move.
I have found hatchet fish a little skittish in open spaced tanks. Provide some floating plants with trailing roots and they seem to relax more. I would keep them in groups of 10plus to help them relax even more.

Great job though mate and love the stock.

Thanks mate, think I will hold out on the hatchets till the eloda hopefully starts covering the surface a bit. For now I plan on doubling the amount of tetra and maybe a pair of apistogramma steindachneri,

I think the apistogramma will be a cool addition. I'm really into apistogramma at the moment.

Looks good, I like the tangle of thin branches, will look great when the plants grow some more.
I think a nice big school of tetras would fill it out nicely, I haven't had hatchets for a long time , thought they were an interesting fish but if there's the slightest gap you will find them dried up on the floor one by one.

Thanks for the heads up,
