The thing seems to be odd on her head. She had it bad but started closing up. Not sure what this white stringy thing is though.

How have you been treating the fish? What meds did you use?

I'm still using metro in addition to epsom salt. Should I throw some coppersafe in to? Or possibly remove it with tweezers?

Have you tried API General Cure it's 250 mg Metronidazole and 75 mg Praziquantel this might get the job done.

No I haven't tried that actually maybe I will but I have another problem. I put her in a separate tank with her mate and they laid eggs. Can I still treat with meds?

Two things here, she can't be in too bad condition if she spawned and you either want the fry or take care if the issues you discribed. Is that thing still on her head?

Hexamita.

A common contributing cause is the flagellate parasite Hexamita. This parasite primarily infects the intestinal tract, but then spreads to the gall bladder, abdominal cavity, spleen, and kidneys. As the disease progresses, the classical lesions of hole in the head disease appear. These lesions will open up and may discharge small white threads that contain parasitic larvae.
