I've been inspired to start this so here it goes. I got this guy in August of last year I believe at about 4". I couldn't find any old pics but I found this vid. I dunno how long after I got it that I took the vid though. http://youtu.be/QkC3HOsCnAc

Very nice fish! I have heard they are aggressive! One day if I set up a tank for a solo fish, This will for sure be one of the candidates!
 
I got mine in June 2010. He is about 26" now.

thanks for starting this thread. The aba aba is one of my favorite fish, but I go back and forth on if I should get one or not. Does he touch the polypterus at all?

wow slower then I would have thought. Did he initially grow fast and then slow down?
 
What size is your setup? I'd love to have one one day, but have been hesitant to dedicate a large system to a solo fish. These guys are so cool it might be worth it though.
