Aba aba growout thread

I've been inspired to start this so here it goes. I got this guy in August of last year I believe at about 4". I couldn't find any old pics but I found this vid. I dunno how long after I got it that I took the vid though. http://youtu.be/QkC3HOsCnAc

And here it is today. I'm not sure on size but for reference, the large bichir beneath him is about 16-17".

Very nice fish! I have heard they are aggressive! One day if I set up a tank for a solo fish, This will for sure be one of the candidates!

Same here but I also hear they don't really bother bottom dwellers and I'm hoping mine turns out to be unique and will commune

thanks for starting this thread. The aba aba is one of my favorite fish, but I go back and forth on if I should get one or not. Does he touch the polypterus at all?

wow slower then I would have thought. Did he initially grow fast and then slow down?

What size is your setup? I'd love to have one one day, but have been hesitant to dedicate a large system to a solo fish. These guys are so cool it might be worth it though.
