They do look around for food a lot, but of course pbass always get it first... Even the bichirs did. LOL
Yeah, I had to hand feed, but got sick of it because the pbass would crash around the tank.

I have a buddy wh0 owns a 2 feet long aba aba with 16" temensis, 12" occelaris and 14" monos and it chases the cichlas when food are being drop and suck them up before the cichlas able to grab the whole prawn. But I;m sure it would depend on the aba aba's personality if it shy or not. If shy then I'm sure it won't be able to compete.

Not long. I think I git this guy at around 15 or 20 inches can't remember the exact size when I got but it sure grew fast as it eats a lot. It can eat 15x peeled large black tiger prawn.
I have always liked aba's, but can't bring myself into getting one. It's always a joy seeing pics of yours.
