In my exprience that are not fussy eats, mine use to eat pallets, hake blood worms, lanch fish, hake, feeders.

10cms, there is a high risk that they will die being so small as they are not very strong when are this small, i have had 3 aba aba's, and all three died,

My first one was the one that eat everthing , he was bet 20-25cm when he got eatten by my poly,

Then i got two small ones also abt 10cms and they didnt make it:cry: for some reason.

I would not recomend have two of them as they are very aggressive the each another, one always thends to beat up the other, in my exprience.

Regarding the best for them as babies i would say live feeders when they are bigger and strong then you can try other foods.

Goodluck!!! hope this helps you

I would keep one per tank. The little ones like some cover to hide in and like it totally dark at night. I have never kept a light on mine at all, it seems to stress him (he is 12 inches currently). A large variety of food is best such as pellets, frozen foods, pieces of fish fillet, pieces of shrimp, small feeders as well as other foods. They need very clean water when young and are easily stresses. I would say do not disturb them unless you have to for maintinence like quick tank cleanings. I hope this helps.

You should be fine as long as you are quick, Mine spends all day laying still in some plants. At night he patrols the tank like a shark.

your right. Its like he is a night watch. haha

my aba aba eats everything. it is around 2ft kept with 4 different species of 12-14" polys, 1 hammerhead, 3 SD, 1 alligator gar. No serious harm done with his tankmates except sometimes it is pinches its tankmates because i didnt put any hiding places for it

I plan to keep my Aba Aba the same way. I have been having a problem getting the small ones to live and can't seem to find a bigger one in my area. I have some included some stats on my tank and advice would be greatly appreciated:

My Nitrate level is at 200 ppm (Extremely High), my Nitrite level is 0, My Hardness is 250 ppm, The alkalinity is somewhere between 0-80 ppm (Low End) and the PH is 6.8 - 7.2 in range. What do you think is killing them?
