Good luck with these and keep us posted how they are doing
I have one left. two has died of unknown reasons, and one was eaten by a 3" endlicheri bichir. Hopefully this last one will survive, looks strong, but the other two looked the same too. I don't know how fast they grow. So far, I have not seen any growth on the last one that I have, it is about 2-3 inches.

I have one that I bought from Rehoboth aquatics about a year ago. I have him housed with polyptures and pearl gouramis. It is pushing ten iches and is very docile. I feed it frozen and fish and sometimes throw feeders in there for fun. My aba aba only comes out at night, so I do not see him much. I think I am going to add a couple more fish to the tank while he is still not aggressive. WHen I first got the fish my banded knife almost killed him, so I sold the knife.

O

Heard they are not a problem when they are 10 inches and below....a monster after 10 inches....has yet to see one....but the price offered here are so expensive.....

can you guys please get pics of yours?

cool at under a foot size. bigger than that, killing machine. not by experience though, cuz each time i want to buy one, i get talked out of it.
izzit seasonal? here in sg, some of the fish farms i asked say tt they're seasonal, so cant get them during certain periods of the year...

Yes they are seasonal. I have two, one I picked up local (Wes), and the other one is from a wholesaler. The one I got from Wes (originally 3, one got eaten, one died), is doing reat right now, it's about 3-4 inches. The one I got from a wholesaler is about 8-10 inches. Very fat, but still very shy. I have him in a 240 with some cichlids(Festae, Loselei, red bay snook, and some flowerhorns), and a baramundi. So far it is still very shy, and not territorial yet. I don't know when they go in transition from bring shy to become monsters. Maybe in another three months, or six.

Note: Sorry Toyin, I know I asked you to let me know when you get some in, but I got these guys before you listed your stock. Remember you told me they get very mean. I wish I could keep the ones you have, no space. If anyone likes monster fish, Toyin has a couple of Aba, one 15+ inches, and the other is 22+ inches.

jus got one today... so cute!!!!! but he doesnt seem very adept at catching the feeder platies tht i throw in... my 3 endis however are enjoying the feast... (got 100+ pieces of platies for buffet style feeding, and another 100+ pieces of goldfish feeders to last me the next 3 days)

Well, remember the above post, I bought 4, two died, one got eaten by my almost same size endlicheri, and now the last one is missing. Can't find a carcass or any sign of it, just vanished. So I only have one left that I bought from another seller, and is about 8 inches. Still somewhat skittish and not mean. Hopefully this one grows, cause this is the sixth one I've tried to keep. Fortunately, the 8" aba is eating beefheart.
