Able to repair cracked bottom?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if that happened to me id just replace the whole bottom glass pane, better safe than sorry.
or if you dont mind putting some elbow into a new project start a new DIY plywood tank build
bigger than the 230 you have now and use the other glass panes that's not cracked or damaged
as a viewing panel on the DIY plywood tank.

I live in a townhouse so I don think I can do a DIY tank. It would have to be something I could move out once our lease is up. I'm not sure if replacing the bottom pane would work because of the rounded corners. Every glass place I've talked to said they wouldn't be able to cut something like that. Plus I don't think I would trust the seal. That's a lot of pressure from 30" of water.

why wouldnt you be able to move a DIY plywood tank? take some mock measurements of the door and hallway or where ever the tank needs to get through and work around that measurement to build the tank.
so if the narrowest point is 36" in width and the shortest point is 120" in height build something around 30" in width and 100" in height. imo using the cracked tank to build a new tank or replacing the whole tank
would be the best bet especially a bigger tank

Well the front and sides of the tank are all one panel. So I technically only have 1 good sheet of glass left. And when we moved the 230 in it would JUST fit. Any longer and it wouldn't have. We had about 1" of clearance on the roof because of the way my stairs are built.
