I want to split them. I see the thread below me, but I am new to plants, and don't know how, and dont want to kill them. What can I do to do this with out hurting them?
I heard that you can cut them in half length wise (hotdog style) every two weeks and they will be fine. World that work or was I not reading correctly? Help please.

You are thinking of saltwater. For amazon swords, the two primary ways of reproduction is 1) daughter plants 2) primary plant dividing. You have already experienced daughter plants, but plant dividing will happen on its own. You will see seperate rosettes start to form, these are what can be split off.

What do you mean? Are those like those one stem, one leaf little plants coming from the bottom of the main plant?

Wyldfya help me!

Sorry I had to take a long nap... setting up that new tank took all night.

A rosette is the center where several leaves will come from. All the bases of the leaves will curl in towards one general center. I'll see if I can find a picture, or I'll snap one.

Thanks because I have no Idea what your talking about. l0l.

Yea but I only had one runner so far, and cut the new plants off of them.

How long until I have new runners off my original plants?
