Well I tried my best w the pics; they don't stay still for long...Maybe these will help w the id. Like I said previously, I am no expert and don't even know if they are even Metynnis Maculatus. I thought the pics were close and went with it. Thanks for the help

im not the greatest at IDing piranhas but to me those look like normal RBP's

metynis maculatus IS a silver dollar(ive previously owned a pair) those are not

a clearer pic of the mouth area will let us know if they are piranhas or not an overbite is alwasy a pacu no overbite nor underbite is a silver dollar or pacu and an underbite is a piranha

edit: you stated you saw some teeth on them and they had an underbite correct ? in that case i stand by the fact that there just RBP's they look identical to mine (yes i finaly got some pics up later guys)

Def saw teeth; not so sure about any underbite though. I will have to look closer and try to get some better pics. Thanks for the feedback! I have two fairly large pacus and the mouths are not the same, plus if I remember correctly I dont recall seeing any teeth at all when they were juvies! They sure eat me out of house and home now though!

those look very very much like pacus

yeah i aggree they have a striking resemblance to pacu but i cant say for sure the mouth looks more pacus-like but the body looks just like any piranha (pacus if i recall are more rounded)
