I recall back in 2020 the stories about how people had filled up all of the land based oil storage facilities and were renting tankers to store it offshore. Where is all of that oil now?

My brother in law works in some sort of management role at chevron. He's made it a point to loudly broadcast at every opportunity how giddy he is about the rising oil prices and how great he's doing as a result. So it all balances out really, while a lot of us are struggling, there are plenty that are profiting from our misery, getting ahead at our expense.

There are always winners and losers in these type of scenarios. Just once in a while though it'd be nice if I could be on the winning team for once! Lol.

I bought regular gasoline today for $5.09 per gallon. :WHOA:

According to data our current average prices in the UK this morning are:

Petrol.....£1.78/litre.
Diesel.....£1.85/litre.

Of course these are averages. Some filling stations are rumoured to be nudging an unprecedented £2.00 per litre.

If you do the math regarding litres to gallons and pounds to dollars it is evident that things are getting quite silly now.

And of course there is no end in sight for these upward spiralling price hikes.

WOW! If my conversion is correct, that is $8.46 per gallon in the U.S.A. I had to look up the difference between the British pound symbol and the Euro symbol.

esoxlucius esoxlucius , aren't they using the Euro to post gas prices?

No, we're not in the euro. All UK figures are in pounds sterling. It's a right faff to convert the litres/gallons/pound/dollar but I did a conversion not long ago in post #7. If you were in the UK paying in dollars it would cost you just shy of $10 per gallon if my figures are correct.

Like I said before, we've always paid more for fuel over here than you guys. Historically cheap fuel has always been great for you guys, you could run your gas guzzling 8 litre turbo trucks at relatively low cost.

But now? I think K krichardson mentioned somewhere that he got rid of his for a far more fuel efficient car, I bet he's one of millions doing exactly the same. Over here in the UK we don't have all these huge trucks, it's just as well, lol.
