so i recently went to a pet store to pick up some feeders just to tease my red devil hes about.. 10 inchs big in a 90 gal set up.. alone cause he killed off all his tank mates.. anyways about my story lol i met this breeder he breeds a **** load of different fishes and he made me an offer for a jardini arowana.. my question is... is a 120 gal tank set up big enough? and are they that aggressive and im receiving the jardini at about 8inchs big btw its free : )

it will be ok for now. try to keep it with fish thats at least half its size. i keep my jardini with other cichlids and it does just fine with a glare every now and then. but not all fish have the same personality.

so.. i couldnt mix my red devil and the arowana together hey : ( shame... lol
oh well do arowanas jump a lot?

Yes Arowanas are know as jumpers. A 6x2x2 would be the min size tank to hold a Jar but that is a long while off.

my jar is about 9-10 inches and is in with alot of sa/ca cichlids. the only one he really goes after is my rd who has a big log he likes to stay under and the jar wont go looking for him down there so everything is fine so far. but they can snap anytime they feel like it.

hmmm maybe i should reconsider.. buying a 220gal.. tank .. but thats gonna cost me a fortune.. LOL but i wanna put my two fishes together.. into one tank.. so it wont cost me a hefty electricity bill

juz bear in mind 1 thing... Jar's are very temperamental... and they are known 2 kill 4 the sake of killing... and i pray uR red get's along wif uR Jar if u house them in the same community... the other factor consider an upgrade... 6 feet tank would be good...

give it a try. especially if the JAR is free. you might have to upgrade later but a JAR is well worth the space.
