HONORURU, HAWAII!
Hey everyone,

well i guess Pleco fever has set in.
im showing symptoms of empty wallet and overcrowded apt :headbang2

anyway, local seller is wanting to thin out his stocks.
He's got a cute like 2.75 inch leopard cactus for like 25 bucks. i missed the last round of them and this little guy has LOTS more to grow!

My plan would be to put him with my 3 baby royals and 1 5inch royal...in a 30L with lots of hidey holes.

i know theyre carnivorous, so i'll probably stick to feeding him sinking cichlid gold for now..maybe some pieces of shrimp here or there.

any input or suggestions?

hes got the following for sale, im kind of debating on what i think i should want to get..i really do want the leopard cactus though! (to be honest, i want all of them!)

-chubby (grey) ~4in...20bucks/offer..are chubby/xanto the same?
-7in L330...60/offer
-5in Xingu...100/offer
-13.5in L095...225/firm

Keeping a L114 with royals isn't a great idea, they have completely different diets. Royals should be on as little animal protein as possible.

If by Xingu, you mean L027 Xingu, then I'd think you'd be crazy not too given that you can get the others any day of the week.

My L114 is also hyper aggressive. Provide lots of hiding places for the others. And I mean, A LOT!

ahhh thanks for the compatibility heads-up.
fish is actually pending to another seller.

matubula..are you saying the xingu is worth it? i'll link a pic.

^^ this is the only one not pending...100 obo.
*shrug*

i could also just hold off on getting new fish for now. :P that's always an option.

From the pic it looks like L027. You should buy what you want don't be influenced by what anyone else says.

It's just that L027 are one of the many banned plecs and you are unlikely to see them again (unless you are very very lucky in Hawaii). And the others should be available everyday of the week.

ahhh ok ok. i suppose i was under the impression that xingus could be just the luck of the draw when a bunch of baby royals come in, and its just hard to tell when theyre small. any truth to that?

i didnt know the other ones werent as rare a L27...
gahh i love panaques :) hopefully if my 55g setup sells i can shoot the seller an offer for the xingu. the colors are amazing compared to a regular royal.

i was thinking...there's no reason why i can't get the L114..theyre pretty uncommon here to be honest.

i think it can have my 30T in the kitchen by itself and the panaques can have the 30L next to my bed again...the L114 wont need driftwood like the panaques do..
will it eat krill if i peel the shell?

...frick i want that xingu now!

Even for the L114 you should provide some driftwood or at least caves.

He will eat krill sooner or later, mine is not picky at all, even eats veggies :D

nice!
yeah he'd definitely get some but the bulk of it would go to the L90's..
it'll be either krill, sinking pellets or wafers lol.

hows the growth rate on them anyway? slow as panaques are?
