Its not the carbon its just the normal filter piece that catches the real fine particles.
ah okay- do yourself a favor, and I am not being a jerk or anything-just being honest here-take that polishing pad and throw it out the window. That's your problem.Once you get rid of it you will see a difference. But at least take it out and plug it all back in and try it without 1st to make sure that's the problem. I had that issue with my Rena and was seriously going to run it over with my truck I was so pissed off but then took out the polishing pad and smiled away.

....by sucking on the *censored* but then it tastes like crap and i almost throw up....

I just felt compelled to unnecessarilly censor the quote. But it sounds like the filter is air locked (didn't read through the tread yet, but that might be apparent).

Don't use the Micron polishing tube. It's made to get clogged up and only work for a few hours. You should be using the media basket (basket that you can put carbon in, but I put bio-media in it). The media-basket is what your supposed to be using 99.999999% of the time. There's no flow coming out becuase the micron filter is clogged and needs to be cleaned (soak in bleach solution).

Here's a link of what the media-basket looks like. If you don;t have it, then your missing something really important.

Good luck !!!!:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

i think air is getting in the canister somewhere because there are no bubbles in the intake but bubbles inside the tube on the outtake.
The o-rings are notorious for leakage. They can be lubed with a silicone or teflon grease (Vaseline will cause an oil slick in your tank). I read the thread this time so I know the air problem has been resolved. Just giving you the info.

If this has been unused for some time, inspect the hoses for dried buildup (should be gooy by now). Run a bottle brush in them to see if they are dirty. Also inspect the impeller and impeller housing for gunk, plant stems, or build up.

Ive read that on a couple of sites, i dont have carbon and its too late to get some tonight. Do you think i could just run it without the carbon but keep the holder for it in there?

FINALLY! Thankyou all soooo much! i took out the normal polishing tube and put the carbon container in and turned it on and it worked great. Thanks, now i can finally get some dinner :)

Sure-but you could also use other foam with bigger pores if you have any from any of your other filters.Just cut it to size.Or...plastic scrubbies etc.Do you have any bio media at all?
