Why dont you ditch the overseas pump and just use a powerhead instead?

Because the overseas pump fits perfectly in the sump tray,
basically, it (the pump) was meant for this type of unit and being that the filter
is above the tank, I want the pump above as well.
IMO it's worth the wait and the extra couple of bucks.:mr-t:

Do you have a website link or manufacturers' name & model? I've been wanting to try something like this but wanted to see a better view of the unit.

i thought all of the U.S used 110 volts? if you have a 220 outlet why dont you just run a couple extra outlets from your breaker box and just use one leg of your power coming in? woudlnt it be cheaper than a transformer?

Oh MAn!!!
Someone told me it was 220v!!
I just checked some plugs and they all say 120v!
I feel so freegin Stupid!!!

OK, So, now that I cleared that up, do u think I will still fry my pump if I put 120v into 110v???

PLEASE HELP!

Any Electricians out there ???

You shouldn't have any problem as far as I can tell, as long as they really are 120V and not 220V. There's not much difference between 120V and 110v, especially for a pump (not voltage sensitive like IC's).

Make sure you keep us updated. I think this thing would just be a bio filter stuff if full of bio media I mean how much do you think that thing will hold omg its got to be alot. then run a FX5 on the tank too to get the mass amount of mechanical filtratuion too. And you got the baskets for chem. man I think that would be a great setup. How tall is this thing post the LxWxH on it. Would your light setup cover it ?

Dimensions- 60"x7"x8"

What's an FX5?

Also, are you guys are sure I can plug this thing in with no consequence? :nilly:
