Hey guys,

i'm about to purchase a snakehead and would like to know the water conditions that snakeheads live in. Do they like a current, water temps, salinity as well as the type of decor i should have.

I use to have one about 8 years ago and it was al lgoing real well .I even slowly taught it to jump out of the water and bite a piece of food i was holding abt 6 inches from the surface of the water. i forgot to close the tank lid one day. Went away for the weekend found 'em all dried up. So sad....

Anyways any info would be much appricated.

Thanks,

To be honest there generally not fussy about water conditions, avoid extremes.
A little cave or pipe to hide in. Some SH like a little cooler water. If it is bleheri
They go between 16c winter and a 30c summer in the wild.

No salt.

I am after a similar SH, Channa Sp. Assam. sometimes called Channa bleheri blue although it is a different species. only gets 4-5"
